Fossilised Wood

Petrified wood is the preserved sections of trees in which minerals have replaced the organic material. Resulting in a fossil, preserving the bark, wood and cellular structures of the original piece of wood. Found in many volcanic and sedimentary locations worldwide, fosssilised wood is admired by collectors for centuries.
