Our little turtle carvings come in two materials that suit the shape beautifully: Maligano jasper, a brecciated stone whose earthy ochre, grey and blue patches are cross-cut by black veins, and fossilised wood, ancient timber replaced by minerals over millions of years, its grain still visible in the shell. Each turtle is carved from a different piece of rough, so no two share the same markings — each one is weighed, numbered and sold individually.
