About Us

GemCentral was established by its owner Alistair Nicholas. With over 30 years experience in lapidary, fossicking, and mining, GemCentral formed as the result of my life long interest in fossicking for gemstones and their cutting and polishing. Combined with my background in engineering I was fortunate, to be able to design and build most of the cutting and polishing equipment that is used for processing and polishing our stone craft products. 

 

GemCentral is able to offer you a huge range of gemstone products that appeal to collectors, craftspeople, jewelers and those interested in metaphysical products. GemCentral provides its customers the opportunity to obtain rare and unusual gemstones as well as the regular range of finished products. We also offer a large range of rough gemstone materials and slabs at reasonable prices. 

 

Wherever possible we like to travel to the mining and processing locations and using our experience we select the rough gemstone materials and products ourselves. We deal directly with the miners. We also have our local purchasing teams that are able to travel to the locations when new gemstone discoveries are made. We buy in bulk and ship by the sea container load, this allows us to pass on the savings to you. This allows us to be sure that our products that we offer to you are of the highest quality and ethically sourced.

 

GemCentral manufactures a wide range of polished stone craft products, for the retail/wholesale and gift, souvenir, gemstone and jewelry sector.
