Feather Agate
$34 per kg
All rough rock orders must be a minimum combined weight of 10kg
Feather Agate is a rare and unusual gemstone found in Sumatra. The beautiful and unusual feather pattern is due to the preservation of the hard remnants of the skeletons of discocyclina fossils. The hard remnants of the skeletons were preserved in a microcrystalline agate/chert. This has resulted in a beautiful gemstone which occurs in colours of umbers, beiges and browns with contains feather like patterns throughout the stone. This stone is unusual and will take a beautiful polish. It is perfect for your next lapidary project, whether you're cutting it for polished slabs, to make cabochons or some other exciting lapidary project.
