Charcoal-grey rock caps the top of this slab, giving way to a bright golden-yellow band and a broad mottled yellow zone that fades into a grey base. No two slabs of Bumblebee Jasper are alike, and this one carries its own natural pattern echoing the colouring the stone is named for. It is left unpolished and untreated, with the photographs taken while the slab was wet. As a mineral stone made up of several elements, some of which can be toxic, we recommend working it wet and washing your hands afterwards. Being a rare and sometimes difficult stone to polish, it can carry natural cracks and cavities, which can be worked into the finished piece rather than avoided; for this reason it suits an experienced hand rather than a beginner. Larger quantities of Bumblebee Jasper are available on request, so get in touch if you need more than this piece.
