Broad golden-yellow banding frames a central grey-brown zone dotted with small dark cavities, before the pattern narrows into a black band running along the base. Every slab is one of a kind, showing a natural pattern that echoes a bumblebee's own yellow-and-black colouring. This slab is unpolished and untreated, and it was photographed while still wet. As a mineral stone, Bumblebee Jasper contains a number of elements that can be toxic, so we suggest working it wet and washing your hands afterwards. It's a genuinely rare stone that can be tricky to polish, often containing natural cracks and cavities that can be worked into the finished piece.
