The slab is unpolished and untreated, and the pictures are taken of the slab wet. Bumblebee Jasper is a mineral stone and is made up of many elements that can be toxic. For this reason we recommend using water when working the stone, and washing hands etc. Bumblebee jasper is a very rare stone and can be a bit tricky to polish. It can contain natural cracks and has natural cavities. Which can be artistically incorporated into the finished gemstone. Bumblebee Jasper (not a true Jasper) is a bright yellow, orange with contrasting black and greys. It is a stone made up of many minerals and is not a true jasper. It obtains it name from sharing the same colours as a Bumblebee. It is a true rarity in nature and this gemstone should be valued for its true uniqueness.
All of our Bumblebee jasper has been hand selected, and ethically mined. We personally traveled to the mining location and spent time with the artisanal miners. Spending time literally at the mine face with them, we entered the workings of the small mine and sat with the (adult) artisanal miners.
We did this to be able to confirm the provenance of our bumblebee Jasper rough, that we offer to you. We hand select all of our bumblebee jasper rough and where we have not processed this stone in our own manufacturing workshop which is located in Tasmania, Australia we have our bumblebee products made to our specifications, in our workshop in Indonesia.
